How do I create a new folder on my Gmail account that is accessed through my internet browser?

Not through Outlook or anything. I use Gmail.com.

A Gmail "label" is the closest thing on the service to a folder, but is essentially a tagging system. When a message is "labeled", the message will appear both in the Inbox view, and the view of the Label, unless you explicitly tell it to do otherwise.

On the left hand side of your inbox screen, go to the "Labels" box, and click "Edit Labels". This will open the settings. Type your label name in the text box at the bottom of the screen. This weill create your new label.
