I generally use the mail client in MAC OSX on my macbook to check email. (gmail account) When i delete msgs..?

When i delete messages in the mail client, how would I make it so that it deletes from my email account online (like when I check it in a browser)? Right now it doesn't get marked as read or get deleted or anything if I were to check it online in a browser, even if I already checked it through the mail client

Thanks for your help

1) Go to your Gmail account on the web.

2) Access your settings (top right corner)

3) Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab (it should be the fifth tab)

4) In the Forwarding: section, Choose Disable forwarding and in the POP Download: section, click the drop down menu besides 2. When messages are accessed with POP and choose either archive Gmail's copy OR delete Gmail's copy.

5) Click the Save Changes button

There you have it

Hope this helps

Reply:what are you using as a mail client? Mail? Entourage? something else? with Mail you can tick a box in preferences go to "Accounts-%26gt;Advanced-%26gt; tick the box 'Remove copy from server after retrieving a message:'" and choose a time you want that to happen

i'm not sure about entourage.. but i hope this helped :) if not i hope someone else replies and helps you :)
Reply:just keep searching though the options.
